This is the second and last single from Taihape band Daggy & The Dickheads. They also released a EP. Afternoon TV was written by ex-Th' Dudes bass player Les White who had replaced original bass player Neil Mickleson. They appeared on an episode of Country Calendar (New Zealand's longest running TV show).
