The Plainsmen - Ballad Of The Waitaki
1967

This is the second single from Timaru's The Plainsmen. They were a Folk/Country band based around the Stringer brothers Norman and Claude. At a time when most New Zealand artists were happy playing covers The Plainsmen wrote all their own marital. Their subject matter was deliberately about New Zealand. Ballad Of The Waitaki sings the praises of the South Island's Benmore dam and hydro-electric power station.

Greg Clark & Mike Chunn - I'm So Up
1980

Mike Chunn was the original Split Enz bassist while Greg Clark had previously played in Space Waltz. Both had played in Citizen Band together. They had just quit the band before its last Australian tour. This was their only release together as Greg Clark &  Mike Chunn. I'm So Up was written by Mike Chunn's fellow ex-Split Enz member Phil Judd. Who was at the time playing in The Swingers. The B-side, I'm Souped is credited as produced by Export Pilsener, I believe that. It must be one of the strangest remixes produced in New Zealand.
