Auckland synthesizer band Car Crash Set were formed in late 1982 by David Bulog and ex- Spelling Mistake bassist and Danse Macabre vocalist Nigel Russell. Both playing synthesizers. They were joined by guitarist Trevor Reekie and bass player Ryan Monga from Ardijah. Legend has it, that the recording time for No Accident went beyond 150 hours. Including one 18 hour session.

ReplyDeleteAs a young aspiring muso I got to chat to Nigel Russell (vox, synth) regularly when he worked at a downtown Auckland music shop (Music Inn?). At the time he was in Danse Macabre. After DM split, I had high hopes for Nigel's new Car Crash Set. But, for me, they never got close to the greatness of Danse Macabre. Thx for the post!
