Mr. Lee Grant - Moving Away 1967




Mr. Lee Grant's birth name was Bogdan Kominowsk. He was born in a Nazi concentration camp in 1945. His father was killed there. After the war in 1949 Bogdan and his mother emigrated to Palmerston North. His quick rise to fame started in February 1967 when he appeared on TV in the first episode of C'Mon. Just over a year later in  March 1968 he had left New Zealand seeking fame in Britain. By the end of 1968 his New Zealand career was all but over. But in that time he had six top ten singles including three number ones. Moving Away reached number two. Under the names Mr. Lee Grant, Lee Grant or Bogdan Kominowsk, he has released a total of 14 singles and two albums in Britain and New Zealand. He also appears in the Bond movie A View To A Kill.
